Is malaria a global threat???
As at 2015 WHO recorded that nearly half of the world’s population was at risk of malaria. 91 countries mostly the sub-Saharan Africa then south-east, Asia, Latina America and middle east are also at risk.
December 2015 there where 212million cases of malaria, and 429000 deaths that was 2015 but with the statistics above according to the world health organization the figures has changed already. That's why we need to fight against malaria

Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted through the bites of an infected female anopheles mosquitoes.
Do these mosquitoes have times and seasons????
Oh yes they do… .
Anopheles mosquitoes bite mostly between dusk and dawn, they lay their eggs in aquatic habitat like swamp, dirty water etc. meaning they are more effective during or after the raining season. We’re currently in their season, I hardly go a day without been bitten by one,  so watch out…

Types of malaria parasite
Plasmodium falciparum (responsible for 50% of all malaria cases)
Plasmodium vivax
Plasmodium ovale
 Plasmodium malarie

Am I at-risk of getting malaria???
Anyone is at risk of getting malaria, mostly those who live in a country like mine (Nigerian) where malaria is common. Children, young adult, adult, mobile travelers are at the risk of getting infected.  Malaria is found mostly in sub-Saharan Africa (Niger, Chad, Sudan, Nigeria).

Malaria can be mistaken for common cold, that’s why you need to be tested.
Below are the most common signs of malaria
Cold/chills
Fever/flu like illness
Sweating
Headaches/muscles aches
         Tiredness/ general body pain
Can anything be done to help prevent it?
Yes little things can be done to keep you safe and sound
Sleeping under treated mosquito nets
Making use of insecticide
Making sure your environment is free of breeding space for mosquitoes.
People normally over look Proper hygiene  practices, which is the most essential, lastly
Get diagnose early (i.e. visit the hospital to get tested and treated).
Anti-malaria drugs like quinine would be prescribed by the doctor.

As common as malaria can be if not treated early enough it can be deadly, may even lead to confusion, metal issues, or even death as the case maybe.
As over 1.5million deaths have been recorded per year.
Are there any better ways you can help put a stop to malaria??
